ASUS has announced the availability of a new firmware version developed for several of its wireless routers, namely build 378.9313, which includes several changes that improve protection and stability.

Specifically speaking, the present update modifies brute-force protection mechanism, resolves buffer overflow issues, and fixes IPv6 firewall UI problems. Also, the producer managed to add reboot scheduler option and support for ASUS’ router application that allows easy device monitoring

In addition to that, ASUS’ developers also resolved several issues regarding HTTPd crashes, OpenVPN firmware login problems, and slow UI speeds when Bandwidth limiter is enabled.

Moreover, User-Agent buffer overflow bugs are removed, Traffic analyser using too many flash sizes is avoided, and several other changes highlighted in the description page of each device are implemented.

When it comes to compatible routers, the present release is targeted at ASUS’ RT-N66U, -N66R, -N66W, -AC56U, -AC56R, -AC66R, -AC66U, -AC66W, -AC68P, -AC68R, -AC68U, -AC68W, -AC87R and -AC87U models.
