ASUS has rolled out two new firmware packages compatible with its RT-AC66 (R, W, and U) and RT-AC68 (R, W, U, and P) models, namely builds 378.9533 and 380.1842, respectively, which resolves the issue where two guest networks had the same mac address.

In addition to that, both versions fix problems regarding IPTV GUI, network map device icon, DNS response, as well as Multicast issues, and allow clients to get a new IP address when changing router IP and subnet mask.

Moreover, quick internet setup wizard in static IP environment and blocking clients in Time scheduling won’t encounter improper notifications. Client list name can now be modified, and view list in network map can be closed.

When it comes to installation, save and extract the downloadable archive, go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Upgrade in the router’s setup, and click “Browse” button near the “New Firmware File” field.

Now, navigate and select update newly-extracted .trx file, hit “Upload” to transfer the firmware to the router, and allow the device to do its job. Upon completion, ASUS’ unit will reboot automatically (first boot might take longer than expected).

As a recommendation, it would be a good idea to perform this process using a wired connection. Wireless technology might disconnect easily and this can lead to various malfunctions.

That being said, download ASUS RT-AC66 Router Firmware 378.9533 or download ASUS RT-AC68 Router Firmware 380.1842, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
