ASUS has announced the availability of a new firmware package compatible with its DSL-N55U rev.D1 router, namely version 1.1.2.3.224, which updates AiCloud (2.0.2.3) and Download Master (3.1.0.101), and implements several security improvements.

In addition to that, the update now allows specific IP addresses to access devices via SSH, Telnet and UI, includes support for Guest Network URL Filter, and can auto-back up client info to a USB drive.

Moreover, ASUS fixes the ATM default QoS bandwidth value, the USB Application page hang issue, and various UI-related problems, makes sure guest clients can’t access AiCloud when configured accordingly, and removes the 42 option DHCP request for non-default route WAN.

Last but not least, if updated, the DSL-N55U D1 router will support the Dual WAN Failover Guest Network control feature and will receive several changes and fixes as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to installation, save and unzip the downloadable archive, establish a wired connection between the router and a computer, and log into its administration page. Afterward, go to the Firmware Upgrade section, hit “Browse,” and use the newly extracted firmware file.

However, bear in mind that removing the Ethernet/power cable from either device, turning off the router or the computer, or interrupting this process in any way can lead to serious malfunctions.

Therefore, download ASUS DSL-N55U ver.D1 Router Firmware 1.1.2.3.224, apply it to your wireless unit and enjoy the changes brought by this new update. Also, constantly check our website to be up to speed with the latest releases.
