ASUS has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its DSL-AC68U and DSL-AC68R router models, namely version 3.0.0.4.378.9166, which includes several fixes and improvements.

Specifically speaking, ASUS’ 378.9166 build updates OpenSSL library (1.0.2d) and Trend Micro security engine, and resolves the CVE-2015-6949, Web server Accept-Language, and Web server URL handler buffer overflow issues.

In addition to that, the producer has managed to add support for Huawei E3372, E303u-1, and E3531s-6 dongles, installs 1.0.3.2 and 5.5.1.135 DSL firmware and driver, respectively, and fixes several AiCloud, DSL Log, and DSL Setting-related issues.

Moreover, the present build also adds Smart Sync Dropbox, ftp, and samba client support, implements IPTV compatibility for Quick Internet Setup, allows limiting upload/download for specific clients, and includes several other changes, as described in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to installation, simply save and unzip the downloadable archive, establish a wired connection between your router and the computer storing the .trx file, and log into its administration page (also make sure the current version isn’t either newer or matching this one).

If all is OK, go to the Firmware Upgrade section, hit “Browse,” navigate and select the newly extracted firmware file, click “Upload,” and wait for your router to do its job.

With this in mind, download ASUS DSL-AC68 Router Firmware 3.0.0.4.378.9166, apply it on your wireless unit, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
