ASUS has rolled out a new firmware package developed for its DSL-AC68 routers, namely version 3.0.0.4.380.4291 compatible with DSL-AC68R and DSL-AC68U device models, which removes a bug that prevented the LAN port from being used after disabling Ethernet WAN.

In addition to that, the 380.4291 build manages to fix Network Tools issues, add support for Pantech’s UML290VW USB modem, include an FAQ URL link for User Defined QoS Rules, and resolve the limitation settings of USB disk available size in Time Machine page.

Moreover, ASUS’ update also removes several bugs that lead to UI errors when the port number is out of range, difficulties connecting to OpenVPN Server in Load Balance mode, Main Network SSID display problems in Guest Network setting, and much more.

Last but not least, this firmware updates ADSL WAN (ATM) and VDSL WAN (PTM) QIS manual setting list, adds VDSL Stability Adjustment options 2dB and 3dB, fixes the wrong INP value, and installs new DSL driver (5.5.2.4) and firmware (1.0.3.9).

Regarding installation, just save and unzip the downloadable archive compatible with your router, establish a wired connection between the device and a computer, and log into its administration page.

Afterward, go to the Firmware Upgrade section, hit “Browse,” navigate and select the newly extracted firmware file, click “Upload,” and wait as the router applies the new firmware.

Still, take into account that removing the Ethernet/power cable from either device, turning off the router or the computer, or interrupting this process in any way can lead to serious malfunctions.
