14 DAY TRIAL // Today, ASRock has rolled out several new BIOS packages compatible with some of its motherboards, which update Intel Management Engine (ME) and Network module and also improve the devices’ DRAM compatibility.
To be clear about the targeted boards, the producer has provided BIOS 1.40 for its H110M-STX model, version 3.20 for the X99M Extreme4 device, as well as a 3.40 update suitable for X99 WS-E and X99 WS-E/10G motherboards.
In addition to that, ASRock has also upgraded the BIOS version for its Fatal1ty X99M Killer, X99E-ITX/ac, and Fatal1ty X99M Killer/3.1 devices, namely the 3.30, 3.60, and 3.80 builds, respectively.
However, if you consider a BIOS upgrade, take into account that an installation failure can seriously damage your motherboard; be sure to perform this task under a steady power environment and don’t interrupt in any way.
As for the downloadable files, ASRock has available three packages for each board and BIOS version describing different flashing methods: DOS, Instant Flash, and Windows files.
To use the DOS archive, simply save and extract it onto a USB stick, connect the drive to your computer, and run the appropriate file from a DOS command screen. Similar steps apply to the Instant Flash file as well, only its content must be executed from BIOS’ flash utility.
Last but not least, to flash your BIOS using the Windows-related archive (must extract it as well), close all programs that might interfere with this process, and run the available setup file.
