The new version updates Intel microcode and TPM module

Just now, ASRock has rolled out a new BIOS package developed for some of its motherboards, namely version 7.00, compatible with the B150M Pro4V, Z170M Pro4S, and B150M-HDV devices, which update the units’ Intel microcode and TPM module.

If you intend to make use of these changes, first know that the producer has provided 3 downloadable packages for each board and BIOS version that describe different flashing methods.

To be clear, if you want to use the DOS archive, save and extract the content onto a USB stick, connect it to the computer, and run the appropriate file from a DOS command screen. The same steps apply to the Instant Flash file as well, but its content must be used from the BIOS’ flash utility.

Last but not least, the Windows-related archive must also be extracted just like the previous two packages, and the available executable must be run. However, when using this method you should close all programs that might interfere with this process before initiating the upgrade.

Bear in mind that BIOS flash processes are risky tasks that should be performed only by users who have the knowledge to successfully complete the update, and only when the newer version specifically resolves an issue that your board has been encountering.

With this in mind, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your ASRock motherboard, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and enjoy your newly-improved devices.
