These new BIOS updates improve Windows 10 boot sequence

Today, ASRock has announced the availability of two new BIOS packages compatible with its Z170 Extreme4 and Extreme4+ board models, namely versions 2.30 and 1.90, respectively.

Regarding changes, these two versions only update Microcode and ME, apply new RAID ROM and EFI driver and improve the devices’ overall boot sequence under Windows 10 platform.

Therefore, if you want your motherboard to benefit from these enhancements, first of all, know that this task must be performed when the newer version implements a change that you can use.

In addition to that, ASRock has made available three downloadable archives for each board: one Instant Flash, one Windows, and one DOS-related file, which you must use as follows.

The Instant Flash procedure allows you to apply a newer version through BIOS’ Setup Menu while the DOS file can do the same thing, but from a DOS command prompt. However, bear in mind that you must run both packages from a removable storage.

Last but not least, downloading the Windows archive requires you to extract it and run the setup file directly from your computer. Still, don’t forget that a BIOS upgrade is very risky, so make sure to perform it only when necessary.

With this in mind, download ASRock Z170 Extreme4 BIOS 2.30 or download ASRock Z170 Extreme4+ BIOS 1.90 and apply it to your device. Also, check back with us constantly to be aware when a newer version is available.
