AMD has announced the availability of its new 16.4.1 beta FirePro Unified Graphics package compatible with Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 platforms, which provides users with tested drivers for Virtual Reality application development.

However, take into account that this release isn’t intended for typical workstation usage other than VR specific applications. Also, take note that AMD’s update has general Beta support for Liquid VR on certain devices.

In terms of valid products, FirePro 16.4.1 Beta can be used along with the producer’s W9100, W9000, W8100, W8000, W7100, W7000, W5100, W5000, W4100, W2100, V7900, and V59 00 workstations.

Therefore, if your configuration is supported by this update, then save and run the appropriate executable (there is one for each bit architecture), wait for it to extract all required files for this installation, and close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade.

Afterwards, simply follow all the on-screen instructions until the installation is complete, and don’t forget to perform a system reboot so that all changes can take effect properly. If the wizard doesn’t request it automatically, make sure to perform this step manually.

That said, download AMD FirePro Unified Graphics Driver 16.4.1 Beta, apply it on your workstation, and enjoy the new VR experience. Also, check our website as often as possible to be up to speed with the latest releases.
