AMD has announced the availability of a new version of its Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition Graphics driver, namely the 20.3.1 (19.50.29.15) package, which improves performance by up to 5% when playing Doom Eternal (Ultra Nightmare settings) at 1920x1080p on the Radeon RX 5700XT.

In addition to that, the current release include support for Half-Life: Alyx and st Recon Breakpoint (Vulkan API) titles, and adds VK_EXT_post_depth_coverage, VK_KHR_shader_non_semantic_info, VK_EXT_texel_buffer_alignment, and VK_EXT_pipeline_creation_cache_control Vulkan extensions.

When it comes to fixes, the 20.3.1 update resolve some issues regarding Red Dead Redemption 2, DOOM, and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne games, removes a bug that caused user to experience stutter in some other titles, and corrects other problems as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

However, AMD’s update might still experience a few problems with Enhanced Sync, Performance Metrics Overlay, Radeon WattMan, certain Radeon RX 5000 and RX Vega series graphics products, as well as other minor issues also described below.

In terms of compatibility, besides a supported GPU, take into account that your configuration must be running a 64-bit variant of Microsoft’s Windows 7 or 10 operating systems. There are two files available, one for each platform.

Therefore, remove any previous version present on your computer, save and run the appropriate package for your system, wait for all files required to be made available, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete upgrade.

With this in mind, if you consider applying this release, download AMD Radeon Adrenalin Edition Graphics Driver 20.3.1, install it and perform a reboot once finished. Also, check back with us to stay “updated one minute ago.”
