Today, Amazon has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with several of its Kindle devices, namely version 5.9.6, which adds support for Arabic language books and allows owners to install and read with their favorite fonts.

To make use of the latter feature, you must connect your Kindle to a computer, refer to the “Read Me” file in the “fonts” folder for installation, and go to Display Settings (Aa) menu and select the desired font.

When it comes to compatible devices, the producer has provided separate downloadable packages targeted at its 6th and 7th Generation Kindle Paperwhite units, 7th Generation Kindle and Kindle Voyage models, 8th-gen Kindle and Kindle Oasis products, as well as its Kindle Oasis 9th Generation tablet.

As for installation, save the appropriate file for your device model, connect the tablet to your computer using a USB cable, navigate to the root directory of the Kindle’s internal storage, and copy the downloaded firmware there.

Afterward, ensure the transfer completes successfully, remove the USB cable, go to Home > Menu > Settings > Menu > Update Your Kindle, tap “Ok,” and the tablet will do the rest; make sure it has a fully charged battery to finish this task properly.

Therefore, if you want to update now, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your device, apply the new firmware by carefully following the steps mentioned above, and check our website as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.”
