Today, Amazon has announced the availability of a new firmware compatible with some of its Kindle devices, namely version 5.8.5, which improves Manga Experience with quicker page turns, zoom, panning around a page, as well as fast/continuous page turns.

In addition to that, the new firmware also modifies the Settings Menu with an easier-to-use design and displays books (that were loaded manually) in both the All and Downloaded library views.

To be clear about the compatible devices, the present update is suitable for Amazon’s 7th Generation Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Voyage, 6th Generation Kindle Paperwhite, and 8th Generation Kindle Oasis models.

Therefore, if you want to benefit from these improvements, get the appropriate .bin file for your device, connect the tablet to it using a USB cable, navigate to the root directory of the Kindle’s internal storage, and copy the downloaded firmware file there.

Afterward, remove the USB cable, go to Home > Menu > Settings > Menu > Update Your Kindle, tap “Ok,” and the tablet will do the rest; just make sure it has a fully charged battery to properly finish this task.

You should also know that the updates can be received over-the-air (OTA) or wirelessly; however, besides an obvious Internet connection, this method requires you to wait for the new firmware to arrive to the tablet, as not all users get it at the same time.
