Amazon has announced the availability of new firmware packages compatible with some of its Fire tablets, namely version 5.6.0, which includes support for the Alexa feature that allows owners to ask questions, shop, search, play music, and more.

To be more specific about this release, the producer has provided firmware 32.5.6.0 targeted at its 5th Generation Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 10 devices, version 37.5.6.0 for the 5th-gen Fire tablet, as well as a 49.5.6.0 update compatible with the 6th Generation Fire HD 8 unit.

As for the new Alexa feature, to activate it, you must hold the Home button until you see a blue line; once displayed, you can feel free to give commands, ask questions, and more. Moreover, the new firmware update also includes general improvements and performance enhancements.

In addition to that, take into account that Alexa will be disabled if Parental Control is turned on, and there is no possibility to use Alexa and Parental Controls at the same time. Also, do not say “Alexa” because it won’t work that way.

When it comes to installation, first save the downloadable package on your desktop, transfer the .bin file onto the root folder of your Kindle’s internal storage, go to Settings > Device Options > System Updates, and tap “Update” to start the upgrade process.

That said, from the links below, download the appropriate file suitable for your device model, carefully apply the new firmware, and enjoy your improved Kindle tablet. Also, constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
