ZyXEL has recently released a new firmware update for its ZyWALL products, namely the USG 200, USG 20, USG 2000, USG 300, USG100-PLUS, USG 20W, USG 50, USG 1000, and USG 100 unified security gateways.

The changelog that comes with these new firmware versions is impressive, counting 33 changes in the form of enhancements or bug fixes.

To update, download the new ZyXEL ZyWALL products firmware 3.30 (patch 3) for the desired device and extract the archive.

It is recommended that you back up your configuration file before the update, so that you don’t have to redo all the modifications after the installation is complete. To do so, log into the ZyWALL as administrator and go to “Maintenance,” “File Manager,” “Configuration File,” and follow the on-screen steps.

Installing the new firmware requires you to go back to the “File Manager” sub-menu and click “Firmware Package.” In the following screen, browse for the recently extracted file and click “Upload.”

The unit will start the installation and automatically reboot when it completes the upload. It will take a few minutes for the ZyWALL to flash the new firmware, so don't try to rush the process or you might end up with a bricked security gateway.

Get the latest firmware for ZyXEL's ZyWALL products, install it, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
