Yamaha has recently released a new firmware update for its MGP32X and MGP24X mixing consoles. Version 1.01 adds a confirmation procedure when changing the recording format and the possibility to relay information about elapsed recording time and remaining recording time to the MGP Editor app.

The initial value of user programs has been changed for COMP (compressor) to MultiBand Comp variations. This change takes effect only after performing a user memory reset.

In order to install the latest version on your device, download the Yamaha MGP32X/MGP24X Mixer Firmware 1.01, extract the contents of the archive, and follow the next steps.

First, make sure you have a FAT32 formatted USB storage device at hand; copy the “MGP32X_P.PGM” file to the root folder and safely remove the device after the files are copied.

Next, turn on the power on your MGP32X or MGP24X while pressing the “TAP” button on the top panel until you get a message titled “Flash update.”

Insert the USB drive in the mixer and wait for the unit to detect the update file. A message will come up on the display asking you whether to load the new firmware or not. Confirm by pressing the knob under the “OK” button.

A progress bar will come up on the screen and the update is now ongoing. At this point it is very important not to power off the unit or remove the USB stick. The installation will take up to 15 minutes, so, please, be patient.

After the firmware is loaded, written, and verified, a message asking to “Start Program” comes on the screen. Press the knob under “OK” to confirm. This should restart the MGP32X/MGP24X and, if it doesn't, simply turn off the power.

At this point, the new firmware is installed and, if you wish to check it, press FX1, GEQ, and USB buttons simultaneously while the unit is on.

Get the latest update for Yamaha MGP32X and MGP24X mixing consoles, install it, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
