Western Digital has outed a new firmware package developed for the My Cloud EX4 personal storage, namely version 1.03.39, which includes an immense number of fixes and new features that should improve the device’s overall performance, stability, and usability.

This fresh release adds support for Dropbox sync and dual network connections and allows users to back up to compatible USB drives using MTP and PTP, block or allow certain DLNA devices, and rescan and rebuild functions for new media files.

In addition to that, firmware 1.03.39 resolves numerous problems regarding the NFS support, UI layout, and various language mistranslations and fixes issues with the Format Disk function and LED notifications, as well as several Active Directory domain related errors.
