14 DAY TRIAL // Venstar, a high-technology HVAC, lighting, and refrigeration controls manufacturer based in Chatsworth, California, has recently released a new firmware update for its T5900 and T6900 ColorTouch thermostats.
Version 3.08 delivers many new enhancements to the aforementioned thermostats, including user-friendly shortcuts, built-in Application Protocol Interface (API), supply air alerts, improved screen graphics with new slideshow options, and the local outdoor temperature on the top bar of the device.
The installation requires a blank SD card, the firmware files, and Venstar's ColorTouch Assistant software. All the necessary links can be found below the text.
Start by installing the ColorTouch Assistant software and run it after the setup is complete. Insert the memory card in the computer.
Choose “New Thermostat Configuration,” then the product model you want to update. In the following screen, hit “Save to SD” to automatically download a blank file to your SD card with the new firmware for your thermostat.
Confirm the destination and press “OK.” A message will appear, informing you that the export is complete.
The next step is to safely remove the card and insert it in your thermostat. Go to “Menu” and, on the second page, select “Settings.”
At the bottom of the list that gets displayed hit “Installation Settings” and, in the following screen, “Upgrade Firmware.” Confirm the installation and wait for the device to flash the files.
