NETGEAR has just announced the availability of firmware 5.0.0.26 developed especially for its WC9500 wireless controllers, which adds support for WND930, AP930, and 3:1 redundancy, fixes band-steering issues, and includes several other changes.

Through this new update, the device will receive radio driver enhancements, remote AP, Time zone, and DHCP fixes, and various serviceability and reliability improvements, such as Crash Dump infrastructure, more debug info, and user readable timings.

In addition to that, users will also be able to use RF Planning and Heat Map features for a better configuration, benefit from URL redirect and lobby admins improvements, as well as from L2 multicast AP discovery option.

Moreover, this new update includes several other bug fixes, UI and Captive Portal improvements, and upgrade enhancements, as well as some known issues that you can view by clicking the “Release Notes” button below.

When it comes to installing this release, first of all save and extract the firmware archive. As a recommendation, since the package size is over 200MB, you might want to use a download manager to ensure the .zip file won’t be broken upon completion.

Afterwards, log into the WC9500’s dashboard, go to Maintenance > Upgrade > Firmware Upgrade > Local File > Browse, select the “wc9500-FW_V5.0.0.26.bin” file, and wait for the new software to be applied.

Therefore, in order to benefit from all fixes and improvements included in this release, download NETGEAR WC9500 Firmware 5.0.0.26, apply it on your wireless controller, and constantly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available.
