The update includes a huge number of changes and fixes

A few moments ago, Nikon has announced the availability of a new firmware package targeted at its D4S digital camera, namely version C:1.20, which improves the auto white balance and changes how focus points are displayed in the viewfinder in certain conditions.

In addition to that, firmware C:1.20 allows using Auto and Flash white-balance options along with the LED light, as well as selecting Commander mode Custom Setting e3. However, these changes require an optional SB-500 flash unit.

Moreover, Nikon’s update removes limits for the number of shots taken in a single burst and for the time the shutter can remain open, and fixes several issues that you can view by pressing the “Release Notes” button below.

When it comes to installation, first of all you must go to the “Firmware Version” section and make sure the currently installed one isn’t either newer or matching this release.

If it’s not, save and run the downloadable file (available for both Windows and Mac OS platforms), locate and copy the D4S_0120.bin file onto a formatted memory card, and insert it into your camera while it’s turned off.

Now, power on the imaging unit, make sure “Network connection” option is disabled, go to “Firmware Version” once more, and follow all instructions displayed for a complete and successful upgrade.

Therefore, download Nikon D4S Camera Firmware C:1.20, carefully follow all instructions highlighted above, and upgrade your camera to the latest software version. Also, constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
