The new release improves automated file transfer process

GoPro has just announced the availability of its 3.00 firmware version compatible with HERO3+ Black Edition action cameras, which improves the automated file transfer process and includes various other improvements and bug fixes.

If applied, firmware 3.00 resolves an issue that might have reduced image quality in incandescent or fluorescent lighting conditions, as well as an error encountered when syncing to Dual HERO System while Wireless was on.

When it comes to installing this release, save and unzip the downloadable archive, transfer the newly-created “UPDATE” folder onto a formatted memory card, safely remove it from your computer, and insert it into the camera while it’s powered off.

Now, if you turn on GoPro’s HERO3+ unit, the device will automatically cycle through a number of beeps, reboot once, and if all has been done properly, it should show an “UPDATING” message on its display.

Finally, upon completion, you will be able to read an “UPDATE COMPLETE” message on your camera’s display. However, if you get a “Camera Update Failed” error, remove and re-insert the unit’s battery, restart the whole process, and hopefully you won’t receive that message again.

With this in mind, download GoPro HERO3+ Black Edition Camera Firmware 3.00, follow all above-described steps in order to properly apply it on your device, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about.
