OCZ has released the 2.0 Firmware Version for the OCZ Vector SSDs that can be updated through the 4.3.0.3979 version Toolbox, which is compatible with Microsoft’s Windows Vista, 7, and 8 operating systems.

This new firmware fixes an issue with the firmware power loss corruption that would cause drives to malfunction. Also, there are some improvements for SATA timing that addresses intermittent detection on certain systems, for USB 3.0 enclosures, and for mobile platforms interoperability.

In order to update the firmware, unzip the downloadable file, open the Toolbox within it as an administrator, and select the drive you want to update – at this point, the Tools, Security, and Details buttons can be used.

Select Tools → Update Firmware and the process will start automatically. If any dialog appears, mentioning that Toolbox is trying to make an outside connection, please give permission for this so that the upgrade can run properly.

When the process is complete, select “Drives” and select your drive again to confirm a successful update to the 2.0 firmware version.

There are some recommendations as well: an important data backup should be done before proceeding, SATA controller must be set to AHCI mode, and it would be better if Microsoft’s AHCI drivers are used.

Moreover, Microsoft’s Windows XP operating systems along with any other that aren’t specified above are not supported by the Toolbox application, and an internet connection is needed to finish the update.

This said, follow the link below and update your Vector’s SSD firmware.
