TRENDnet has made available a new firmware package developed for its TEW-811DRU wireless router, namely version 1.0.6.1, which includes several changes that improve the unit’s overall performance, stability, and security level.

Specifically speaking, this release resolves various wireless connection problems regarding Apple devices, adds support for 2TB USB storages and allows GPT partitioning, and fixes the LED improper behavior encountered when USB devices were connected.

In addition to that, version 1.0.6.1 resolves the administrator login timeout problem, the Safari browser login issue, and the multicast streaming errors, revises multi-language items in user interface, and adds several security-related updates.

Moreover, the problem regarding the NAT loopback with different ports is fixed, the Dynamic DNS (DDNS) update issue is resolved, and the PPPoE, PPTP, and L2TP WAN types now support NAT loopback.

That being said, if you intend to apply this release, simply get and extract the downloadable archive, log into the router’s web interface, and go to Administrator → Upload Firmware → Browse; navigate and select the “TN_TEW-811DRU_v1.0.6.1.bin” file and click the “Apply” button.

At this point, the new firmware is transferred to the TEW-811DRU unit and, when the upload is complete, the upgrade process will be initiated; simply wait for the new update to be applied and for the router to reboot.

That being said, download TRENDnet TEW-811DRU Router Firmware 1.0.6.1, install the new version following the steps described above, and enjoy your newly-improved wireless device.
