TRENDnet, an American networking solutions manufacturer, has just released a new firmware for one of their wireless network extenders, the TEW-713RE.

Version 1.01 is the initial release and, unfortunately, comes with no changelog.

The N150 Easy-N-Range Extender is a handy tool that will help you eliminate wireless dead spots. Setup is easy with no drivers to install. Simply press the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button on your router or access point, then on the TEW-713RE and you’re done.

This device will support data rates of up to 150 Mbps based on IEEE 802.11n and is backward compatible with IEEE 802.11b/g devices.

Updating the firmware is as easy as the initial setup. Unzip and save the img file on your desktop, in order to be at hand for further use.

In a browser window type http://tew‐713re and enter your login information (if required). Next, click the “Management” tab, then “Upgrade Firmware.” Browse for the recently unzipped file and update.

It is very important not to power off or refresh during update process. When the installation process is complete, you can remove the firmware file.

Below is the link to the new release. Download, install and stay “updated one minute ago.”
