A few moments ago, Sony has announced the availability of new firmware packages developed for its F5 and F55 4k cameras, namely version 4.1, which bring several changes that improve the devices’ overall performance and stability.

Specifically speaking, this fresh release enhances the viewfinder’s double speed mode, makes possible the use of the ABB function while shooting in SStP format, and resolves the issue where the lens filename wasn’t properly displayed on the sub screen.

In addition to that, version 4.1 adds a new “High Contrast” function as an option to the assignable buttons, changes the Color Space settings to S-Gamut3.Cine/Slog3, and modifies the “Auto Iris” detection area in order to enhance the CA4000 operation speed when used with the F55 camera.

If you apply this firmware, the compatible devices will benefit from a higher quality when using standard Gamma and HyperGamma settings, the improper clip number counting for AXS recording is fixed, and MLUT support is now added while using XAVC 4K/QFHD and SStP features.

As for recommendations, Sony highlights that the “All File” option isn’t compatible with previous firmware versions, the “Interval Rec.” feature isn’t yet supported by this release even though the function is present in the menu, and the Private browse function should be turned off when using WiFi remove by iOS devices.

That being said, from the links below follow the one that best describes your Sony camera, apply it on the device, and enjoy the benefits of this newly-released firmware. Also, check with our website as often as possible in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
