Not long ago, Sony PS4 Firmware 2.02 was announced on Twitter, and just now, the producer has made available the links for downloading its promised software update targeted at PlayStation 4 systems.

As the official changelog highlights, this new update includes system software stability improvements during use of certain features, games and applications.

Therefore, if you want to make use of these enhancements, save the downloadable “PS4UPDATE.PUP” file and transfer it onto the “PS4/UPDATE” directory of an USB stick.

Now, connect the memory stick to the PS4 system, power on the console, and go to Settings > System Software Update. At this point, the device will guide your through the installation, therefore make sure you follow the on-screen instructions.

Bear in mind that, even if it seems like a simple process, removing the USB storage, powering off/rebooting the PS4, or playing with its buttons can lead to an update failure that will not only interrupt the installation but might also render the console unusable.

In addition to that, you should also know that any power disruption will cause the same problems, therefore it would be a good idea to use an Uninterruptible Power Supply unit (or UPS) for all important upgrades.

That being said, download Sony PlayStation 4 Firmware 2.02, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and apply the new software in order to be up to date with the latest releases.
