A short list for today, while waiting for the H77 boards

Since yesterday's list was a very generous one, it's no wonder that today's one is rather small. Nevertheless we're waiting for the major manufacturers to surface the BIOS (and drivers) for the new Intel H77-based boards.

This day brings the usual HP and Acer notebooks (as we're working hard to list as many models possible) and some Asus motherboards, out of which the niftiest is the Z68-chipset Maximus IV Extreme-Z.

Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z works with Intel's second generation Core i3, i5, or i7 CPUs and can accommodate up to 32 GB DDR3 memory grouped in 4 dual-channel DIMM slots. While being a board created with the hardcore gamer in mind, the Maximus IV Extreme-Z can run both SLI and CrossFireX configurations and supports the LucidLogix Virtu technology.

USB 3.0 and SATA 6 Gb/s connectivity is available as we expected, while Asus' gaming-related and overclocking utilities come bundled with it, letting users experiment with all sorts of available tweaks for better performance.

Here's today's BIOS:

Asus P8H61-M LX PLUS Bios 3605 Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z BIOS 3203 Asus P8H61-I BIOS 0804 Acer Extensa 4630Z Notebook BIOS 2.11 HP G3050EA Notebook BIOS F.24 A for XP/Vista x32

As both hardware and software evolve, old BIOSes might become unstable or simply prevent you from using your computer to its full potential.

Therefore, it is highly recommended to always use the most recent BIOS version available. Do not forget to check with our site as often as possible in order to stay updated on the latest BIOS files.
