Samsung has made available a new lens firmware package targeted at two of its interchangeable lens cameras, namely version 130509 developed for the producer’s NX300 and NX2000 devices.

This newly released update includes several fixes and changes for different types of lenses and contains different firmware versions for each lens.

Specifically speaking, within package 130509, you will find firmware version 1.00 for the 20-50mm-II lens, version 1.20 for 18-55mm and 50-200mm products, as well as version 1.22 for the 30mm.

In addition to that, the 18-200mm, 85mm, 18-55mm_iFn, 20-50mm-I, 20mm, and 50-200mm_iFn interchangeable units are also compatible with this package through the 1.10 firmware included within the update.

As for installing the release, get and expand the downloadable archive and make sure the lenses you want to update are attached to the camera (the update cannot be done otherwise).

Now, onto the root folder of a formatted SD card, copy the “lens.bin” file from the folder that best describes your lens name, insert the card into the camera, and turn on the unit.

From the camera’s menu, go to Setup → Device Information → Firmware Update → Lens Firmware, choose “Yes” so that the upgrade starts, and wait for the process to complete.

That being said, download Firmware 130509 for Samsung NX2000 or download Firmware 130509 for Samsung NX300 depending on which camera you own, attach the lenses you want to update, and apply the new firmware.
