Samsung has just released a new lens firmware update targeted at its NX100 and NX2000 digital cameras, namely version 140311, which improves OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), autofocus, and several other features.

When it comes to the compatible products and their related firmware version, this package includes build 1.00, 1.11, and 1.22 for the 20-50mm-II, 18-55mm-III, and 30mm lenses, respectively, as well as variant 1.20 targeted at the 18-55mm-I and 50-200mm-I optical devices.

In addition to that, within this fresh release you will also find firmware version 1.10 that can be applied on lenses such as 18-55mm-II_iFn, 20-50mm-I, 20mm, 50-200mm-II_iFn, 18-200mm, and 85mm.

As for the changes included, the current release improves OIS performance, current, and noise, increases the DMF sense of rotation, adds new functions for the NX30 device, and enhances NX200 movie mode aperture noise.

The two compatible cameras also benefit from improved infinity autofocus accuracy at fireworks mode, lowered power consumption when the lenses are operated, as well as from a 3 steps control for the DMF sensitivity.

Moreover, specific back focusing issues are resolved, the MF Ring sense of rotation is changed to the opposite position, and the phenomenon where DMF failure was encountered when users were pressing half shutter is now fixed.

However, bear in mind that not all changes apply for each of the aforementioned cameras and lens models. The particular changelog for the compatible devices is displayed on the description page, so make sure you check it.

That being said, download Samsung NX100 Camera LENS Firmware 140311 or download Samsung NX2000 Camera Lens Firmware 140311, apply the new versions to your lenses, and enjoy your newly-improved devices.
