Samsung has just rolled out a new firmware package targeted at its NX300M smart camera, namely version 1.11, which adds a new Wireless Privacy Lock function and revises the Open Source Licenses.

In order to upgrade this device, first make sure you use a fully charged battery to perform this process, format a compatible memory card using the camera’s menu, and then get and extract the downloadable archive.

Copy the firmware file from within the newly-created folder onto the SD card, insert it into the camera, and turn the device on. Now, go to Menu → Settings → Device Information → Firmware Update → Body Firmware Update and choose “Yes” when prompted to initiate the upgrade.

At this point, the smart camera will check the firmware to ensure it is the appropriate software for your device, and afterwards it will restart.

After the unit turns back on, the NX300M will have to apply two updates and reboot after each one, so make sure you don’t interrupt the process in any way. Doing so will result in an update failure which can cause serious device malfunctions.

Upon completion, the camera will display a “Body Firmware update completed” message, at which point you should turn the device off, remove the SD card, and check the currently installed firmware to ensure the upgrade was successful.

That being said, download Samsung NX300M Smart Camera Firmware 1.11, take into account all aforementioned aspects, apply the firmware, and enjoy your newly-updated imaging device.
