The update reduces the longitudinal noise that may occur when changing the adjustment

Today, SIGMA has outed a new firmware package targeted at its dp2 Quattro camera, namely version 1.01, that can be applied regardless of the operating system currently powering your computer.

This newly-released update resolves an issues where the details of subjects with similar color tones would be lost when the image is shot in JPEG format.

In addition to that, version 1.01 also reduces the longitudinal noise that sometimes occurs when making adjustments in the image correction process. Therefore, with the noise level lowered, the development of RAW files will now work properly.

However, bear in mind that, once the present firmware is applied, developing RAW files will only be possible using SIGMA Photo Pro Software 6.0.5, so make sure you download and install it.

When it comes to upgrading to version 1.01, first check the currently installed firmware by going to Menu → Information and make sure it isn’t either newer or matching this release.

If it’s not, save the downloadable .bin file onto the root folder of an SD card (format the memory card before copying the new firmware), insert it into the dp2 Quattro, and power on the device.

Now, go to Menu → Firmware Update → Start Firmware Update, select the “Yes” option, and wait for the new software to be applied. Also, upon completion, the camera will automatically turn off.

That being said, download SIGMA dp2 Quattro Camera Firmware 1.01, make sure you are familiar with the installation steps, and upgrade your camera’s firmware to the latest version.
