Just now, Realtek has made available the 2.73 version of its HD audio driver compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of all of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems.

The new release consists of 3 download records: one compatible with Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003 operating systems, and the other two targeted at the Vista, 7, and 8 platforms, as well as the latest Windows 8.1 OS (one file for each bit architecture).

While the XP-compatible package contains the HD audio and HDMI driver version 5.10.0.7083 and 5.10.0.6519, respectively, the other packages include the 6.0.1.7083 HD audio and 6.0.1.6650 HDMI drivers.

In addition to that, the same XP-related executable includes a Microsoft High-Definition Audio UAAV1.0a(5013) targeted at the Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP1 and SP2, as well as Server 2003 SP1.

As for installing this version, simply download Realtek HD Audio Driver 2.73 for your currently installed OS, run the executable, and follow the onscreen instructions.
