Realtek has outed two new driver versions developed for its RTL8153 USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet controller, which are compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

Specifically speaking, the producer has made available version 7.018, suitable for controllers running under Windows 7 platforms, as well as the 8.025 driver that can enable the Realtek’s RTL8153 components that are included in Windows 8 and 8.1 system configurations.

When it comes to applying them, first save and extract the appropriate archive for your system configuration, browse for and run the “setup.exe” file, and simply follow all the instructions displayed on screen.

Afterwards, upon completion, it is recommended that you reboot the computer in order to allow all changes to take effect properly. However, if the wizard doesn’t request this task, it would be a good idea to perform it manually.

Bear in mind that, although this process is simple, you mustn’t try to install the drivers on platforms other than the aforementioned ones. Even if these files might work on other OSes, they could also cause unwanted device malfunctions.

With this in mind, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your configuration, apply it, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
