Pioneer has just released a new firmware package developed for one of its DJ controllers, namely version 1.12 targeted at the DDJ-SZ mixer, which includes a few fixes that should improve the device’s overall performance.

This fresh update resolves the problem where the MIDI and Serato DJ controller modes weren’t switched automatically, and the one where, even if the Color FX button was selected for the MIC input, the sound effect wasn’t sent from the audio card.

Moreover, this latest version also fixes an issue with the sampler volume level that couldn’t be set to zero when a PAD was pressed and released during sampler velocity mode (After-touch enabled).

As for installing this update, connect the controller to a computer, activate the update mode by holding the “SHIFT” and “SYNC” buttons while pressing the power button, and get and expand the proper downloadable archive suitable for your system’s platform.

Now run the newly extracted file, select the desired language, and before selecting “Start,” make sure the two displayed versions don’t match. When “Start” is selected, the device will start applying the new firmware and will show a proper message when the process has completed.

That being said, download Pioneer DDJ-SZ DJ Controller Firmware 1.12 for the proper operating system, apply the latest firmware, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
