A few moments ago, Pioneer released a new firmware update targeted at its SPX-HUD01 Head-Up display navigation, namely version 51.010100, which includes several bug fixes that improve the device’s overall performance.

In addition to that, through this latest update, the innovative GPS unit will now automatically enable Low Speed mode when the destination is less than 2 km (1.24 mi) away for a more accurate navigation (previously the Low Speed mode was set to 300m/0.18 mi).

As for applying this release, get and extract the downloadable archive, copy the “pioneer-hud-2014-510100.bin” file onto an empty SD card, enter your vehicle, and insert the memory card into the unit’s SD slot.

Now turn on the vehicle’s key to the ON position, power up the GPS unit, and when the “Available data found in micro SD card” message is displayed, press the “Play” button on the remote control in order to initiate the update.

Once the firmware has been successfully installed, the SPX-HUD01 will automatically restart. At this point you must remove the SD card and you’re good to go.

That being said, download Firmware 51.010100 for Pioneer SPX-HUD01, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, apply it, and go and experience a more accurate global positioning system.
