Just now, Pioneer has made available two new firmware versions developed for its DDJ-WeGO2 DJ controller, namely builds 1.02 and 9.02, which can be installed regardless of the operating system.

When it comes to changes, while firmware 1.02 adds support for TRAKTOR PRO 2, version 9.02 fixes a noise issue that was encountered in the audio output when the DDJ-WeGO2 was used with an iPad or iPhone running on iOS 7.

In addition to that, package 9.02 also changes the controller’s bitrate from 24-bit to 16-bit (when used as a USB audio device), and it’s recommended only for iOS 7 users.

As for installing these packages, get and extract the desired archive, turn off the DDJ system, disconnect all cables from the unit, and close all running application or any process that might interfere with the upgrade.

Now connect your computer to the DDJ-WeGo2 through a USB cable, power on the device while pressing the two “HEARDPHONE CUE” buttons, and keep holding them until the Level Meter’s LEDs start flashing.

Afterwards, activate the extracted firmware file (Java Runtime Environment is required), and click “Start” in the displayed dialog. The upgrade process will now start, and after approximately 2 minutes, another dialog will pop up, when you must press the “Ok” button, and you’re done.

It’s also a good idea to check that the desired version has been successfully installed. To do that, go to Start Menu → All Programs → Pioneer → DDJ-WeGO2 → DDJ-WeGO2 Version Display Utility (Pioneer DDJ-WeGO2 DJ Controller Driver 1.000 must be installed on the computer).

That being said, download Firmware 9.02 for Pioneer DDJ-WeGO2 if you are an iOS 7 user or download Firmware 1.02 for Pioneer DDJ-WeGO2 if not, take into account all the above mentioned aspects, and enjoy your newly updated DJ controller.
