Just now, Phase One has made available firmware version 5.14.29 compatible with most of its IQ digital back series, which adds support for 256 GB and larger CF cards and includes various other improvements.

Firstly, bear in mind that this update can only be used along with the producer’s IQ140, IQ160, IQ180, IQ260, IQ260 Achromatic, and IQ280 digital backs, and it shouldn’t be applied on other device models. Doing so might cause serious and irreversible malfunctions.

If these devices are upgraded, they will benefit from a new Focus Meter option with up to three Live View focusing areas. However, this new addition is only available in tethered mode along with the Capture One Pro 8.

In addition to that, the IQ2 series will receive wireless mobile compatibility for viewing, remote capturing, and geo-tagging images with the latest version of Capture Pilot App. Also, French language is updated and Chinese character sets are now supported.

Last but not least, turning on or off the digital back now takes around 3 seconds to complete, and host capture is now available when using Phase One’s Mamiya RZ67 Pro II adapter.

As for an important recommendation, if you upgrade your device, make sure not to power off or reboot the unit or play with its buttons during the installation process, as this can lead to the same results as trying to apply an incorrect firmware – irreversible malfunctions.

With this in mind, download Phase One IQ Digital Back Firmware 5.14.29 for the specific model that you own or want to upgrade, apply the new software, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
