Peplink has made available new firmware packages compatible with all of its Balance, Pepwave MAX, and Pepwave Surf routers, namely version 6.1.2 beta, which are part of an Open Beta Program and should be used for testing purposes.

In order to be clear, Peplink’s new release is targeted at its Pepwave MAX 700, HD2, HD4, BR1, and ON-THE-GO, as well as at the Pepwave Surf SOHO routers. In addition to that, the Balance 20, 30, 210, 310, 305, 380, 580, 710, 1350, and 2500, as well as Balance One units are also compatible.

This fresh update adds the producer’s new Pepmin feature that gives users the ability to connect to the web user interface using a mobile phone or a private IP. Using this provides a more secure access to various devices through the InControl 2.0.

In addition to that, the new firmware also adds a Bonjour Forwarding/Gateway option that allows Apple products to connect and share with each other, even if their subnets differ.

Moreover, version 6.1.2 beta improves system, Speed Fusion, and LAN DNS Proxy stability, adds USB support for Peplink’s Balance One and Balance 2500 routers, and fixes a DNS SRV record issue encountered by Balance 210, 310, 305, 380, and 2500 devices.
