Fixes issues with Calendar alert and status bar icon display

Pebble has just rolled out its 2.8 smartwatch firmware update targeted at its wearable devices, which adds full character notifications support for 80 languages, meaning that 98% of the special characters will now be displayed correctly.

But the producer doesn’t stop here; issues regarding Calendar alert reliability or status bar icon display have been resolved, screen transition when entering critical battery mode has been enhanced, and the risk of crashes from callbacks has been decreased.

Therefore, if you intend to make use of these new improvements, you should know that Pebble has provided 3 files: one for Pebble watches with Serial Numbers (SN) starting with Q, one for SNs starting with a numeral, and the last file for Pebble Steel devices.

Bear in mind that if you download and try to apply the wrong firmware file, your Pebble smartwatch might end up bricked. Thus, carefully check the serial number on the watch’s back, and save the suitable .pbz package for your device.

Moreover, along with this new firmware, the producer has also made available Pebble Android App 2.1.0, as well as Pebble iOS App 2.5.2, through which you can upgrade your smartwatch device.

In other words, save the appropriate firmware on your phone, open the .pbz file using one of the two aforementioned mobile applications, and follow the instructions for a complete installation.

That being said, download Pebble SmartWatch Firmware 2.8 or download Pebble Steel SmartWatch Firmware 2.8, update your device’s software, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
