Panasonic has just unveiled new firmware packages developed for some of its digital cameras, namely version 1.3 targeted at its Lumix FT5 (DMC-FT5) and TS5 (DMC-TS5) devices, and version 1.1 compatible with the Lumix LF1 (DMC-LF1) product.

The release consists of 2 separate download records for each of the cameras, which are developed for the MAC platforms, as well as for all of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems, both bit-architectures.

While the LF1 gets connectivity improvements with MacPC devices, the FT5 and TS5 enjoy the benefits of the enhanced Time Lapse Shot functionality.

As for installing the packages, first you should know that turning off the camera or removing the SD memory card while the firmware upgrade is in progress could cause an update failure and, therefore, serious damage to the device.

So, extract the downloadable file, copy the newly uncompressed firmware file onto a formatted memory card, insert it into the camera, and power on the device while pressing the “Playback” button.

Next, you will be prompted with dialog where you must choose “yes” so that the update process can start (make sure you don’t interrupt it), and when it completes, the camera will shut down automatically; remove the memory card, power back on the device, and that’s all.

Now, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your Panasonic digital camera, and update the device to the latest version.
