Panasonic has recently released a new firmware version for its AG-HPD24. Update number 8.16-00-0.00 fixes the import fail of CPS password from SD/SDHC card to the P2 deck.

The update procedure requires an SD memory card and a bit of patience. Download the file from the link below and follow the next few steps.

Extract the archive to an accessible location on your hard drive. It contains a folder named “Private” that needs to be copied to the formatted memory card; insert the folder in the AG-HPD24 deck.

Next, press the “Thumbnail” button and then the “menu” key. Use the cursor buttons to go to the “Operation” tab and then select “Update.” Confirm the firmware installation.

Note that, until now, the SD card access lamp has been off. When the “Preparing for update” message is displayed, the SD LED will stay on.

Soon, a new screen will appear and the access lamp will blink. This means that the firmware update is in process. The installation will take up to 15 minutes, so, during that time, keep calm and wait.

When it finishes, there will be a screen to confirm that. It will also advise you as well to power off your device. Please do so after removing the SD card from its slot.

If you encounter the “Update error” message, have no fear. Just power off and then on again the device and restart the update.

Below is the link to the firmware. Download, install, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
