The new version improves startup process stability when using a UHS-I compliant SD Card

Panasonic has just made available a new firmware package targeted at its Lumix DMC-GX7 digital camera, namely version 1.3, which includes a few changes that improve the device’s overall stability.

Specifically speaking, the new release enhances the startup process stability by improving compatibility with UHS-I compliant SD cards and resolves the wireless connectivity issue encountered by Apple iOS devices.

If you intend to update to this version, get and extract the downloadable archive and copy the “GX7__V13.bin” firmware file onto a formatted SD card. When done, make sure the battery is fully charged, turn off the device, and insert the memory card into the camera.

Now, power on the GX7, press the “Play” button in order to enter play mode, highlight the “Yes” option at the “Start Version Up ?” message, and press the MENU/SET button.

At this point, the camera initiates the upgrade process, so make sure you don’t turn off the power, operate the device’s buttons, or remove the SD card, battery, or lens – doing so can result in an update failure that might cause serious camera malfunction.

After the process finishes and the Lumix GX7 reboots, check the currently installed firmware to ensure the installation has been successful, power off the camera, and remove the SD card.

Therefore, if you want to update your device’s firmware, download Panasonic DMC-GX7 Camera Firmware 1.3, apply the latest version, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
