Onkyo has just made available firmware version 1010-7110-0000-0201 targeted at its TX-NR828 network A/V receiver, which corrects a volume problem that the device was encountering.

To be clearer, the only issue that the newly released package resolves is for the ZONE2 volume feature that wouldn’t work when Onkyo’s Remote App for Android was used.

As for applying the firmware, first make sure the HDMI Control and Multi Zone settings are off, stop any contents playback if present, and remove any USB flash drive from the device.

Now, copy all the files and folders from within the downloadable archive onto a formatted USB device, connect it to the A/V receiver, and power it on if it’s either turned off of in standby mode.

At this point, a “Now Initializing …” message will appear on the display, and after the USB’s name is shown, press the “HOME” button on the receiver’s remote controller. Now, from the menu, go to Firmware Update → Update via USB → Update, and press “ENTER.”

This procedure starts the update process which takes up to 60 minutes, so make sure you don’t turn off the receiver, plug or unplug any HDMI cable, remove the USB drive, or try to access the AV device from the computer.

Now that you have taken into account all the important aspects, follow the link below, and download the zip archive containing the files needed to upgrade your Onkyo device.
