The list of devices that get the update contains sixteen names

Onkyo has just released a new set of firmware updates for sixteen of their network A/V receivers. The most common issue in the changelogs is the improved picture output of 4K up-scaling.

To view the full list of changes, click the link below and select a product. Each comes with its individual release notes and, of course, the download link.

The installation procedure, however, is common and can be done via network or USB storage.

Updating through USB requires a memory stick, the firmware, and, of course, a PC. First of all, format the flash drive and copy the contents of the downloaded archive to the root folder.

Safely remove the flash drive and plug it in the USB port of your Onkyo network A/V receiver. Power on or wake the device from sleep and select USB input source.

After it recognizes the memory stick (it could take up to 30 seconds), press “Receiver” and then “Home” on the remote control. This should lead you to the home menu.

Select “Firmware Update” and then “Update via USB.” If this option is not available it means that you've copied the files wrong on your USB drive or you already have the latest firmware version on your receiver.

If the option does come up on the screen, proceed to selecting “Update.” The TV screen might turn off during the installation process, but the update progress can be seen on the receiver's display.

When the “Completed!” message pops up on the receiver's screen, remove the USB device and press the “On/Standby” button on the front panel. Do not use the remote control for this action. If all goes well, you should now have the new firmware installed.

Download the latest firmware at the link below and stay “updated one minute ago.”
