Onkyo has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for its TX-NR535 and HT-R593 network A/V receivers, namely version 1050-6110-0000, which enhances performance for USB and NET-related functions, and includes several other minor improvements and fixes.

In order to make use of these changes, go to Home Menu → Firmware Update on your receiver and check to see if the currently installed firmware isn’t either newer or matching the current release.

If checked, you must make the preparations for the update so that any future malfunctions are avoided. To do so, set the “HDMI Control” option to “Off,” remove all connected devices, and turn off or stop the Multi Zone and Playback functions, as well as any Ethernet connection.

Now, get and extract the downloadable archive, copy the content onto a formatted USB stick and connect it to the A/V receiver. Then, turn on both the receiver and the TV, select the USB input source and wait for the removable drive to be initialized.

When completely recognized, simply go to Receiver → Home → Firmware Update → Update via USB → Updated to initiate the upgrade process, and allow the receiver to apply the new firmware.

Upon completion, a “Completed!” message will be displayed on-screen, at which point you should remove the USB drive and perform a reboot to ensure that all changes take effect properly.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your device model, take into account all aforementioned steps, and update your receiver to the latest firmware version.
