After the release of the 1.0.393 package, OUYA has unveiled a new firmware, version 1.0.409, targeted at its same gaming console device, which adds a new interesting feature.

Specifically speaking, this release introduces Age Gating for PLAY and DISCOVER, an option that is set to “OFF” by default. However, you can turn it on by going to Manage → Account → Parental Controls, and then select “Filter content by rating.”

Now, from there, you are able to block a content level, meaning that if you choose one from the available options, the interdiction won’t be applied only for that level, but for all of them that are more mature than it.

To be clearer, this blocking feature means that any game or application with the selected rating and higher will not be displayed in DISCOVER and PLAY. In order to view these mentioned games/apps, just turn off the Age Gating option.

That being said, follow the link below, and download and install the package in order to benefit from this new parental feature.
