The update brings additional Community Content for devs

OUYA has just announced the availability of firmware version 1.2.1427, or “Chickcharney” Hotfix 2, targeted at its gaming console, which comes after more than a month since the big Chickcharney Firmware 1.2.1353 update was introduced.

As users started to install the first Chickcharney version, some of them reported some improper behaviors encountered by their consoles, and so came out OUYA’s first Chickcharney Hotfix, namely Firmware 1.2.1378.

Same story applied to that version as well, and thus this second hotfix was released, adding more Community Content support for developers, various bug fixes, and a solution for an error that caused some users to see double system updates.

In addition to that, if this update is applied, lots of sideloaded games will be accessible from the MAKE section and game update icons will always be displayed properly, as that specific issue has now been resolved.

When it comes to applying this version, make sure you perform this step in a steady power environment, such as the one ensured by a UPS unit, so that no related problems are encountered. If the device suffers an update failure, this event might cause it to malfunction.

In other words, download OUYA Game Console Firmware 1.2.1427 Chickcharney Hotfix 2, carefully apply it on your device, and enjoy the changes that this new release brings about.
