ONKYO has launched a new firmware for their TX-NR818 network AV receiver. Version 1120-8103-0101-0000 improves picture output of 1080p/24 sources, playback stability of FLAC files via Network/USB and corrects the sound leak issue between Main and powered Zone2/3 when activating Powered Zones.

The manufacturer offers a note regarding the updating procedure. If users are updating from version 1100-7101-0100-0000, the procedure will be done using a USB Flash drive.

In case the receiver has an older version installed, the installation will be done via Ethernet cable in two steps: first to version 1100-7101-0100-0000 and then via USB to the recent 1120-8103-0101-0000.

The update procedure involves a USB storage device, the firmware you will download from the link below and the AV receiver, of course.

To start, users must first enter “NET” mode and turn off HDMI Control before starting the procedure.

Be advised that it may take up to two hours for the update to complete. Be patient and, in case the process fails to finish, turn off the power supply and start all over again.

Below is the link to the new firmware. Download, install and stay “Updated one minute ago.”
