Western Digital, well known for its innovative storage solutions, has made available a new firmware package targeted at its My Cloud personal storage unit, namely version 03.03.02-165, which includes some changes that improve the device’s overall performance.

If applied, the new release fixes the mobile cloud access issue where the connection would drop after updating to Firmware 03.03.01-156 for WD My Cloud, and resolves the problem where a scheduled safepoint update would not run automatically.

In addition to that, this version also fixes the device’s performance degradation that was caused by video formats used to record slow motion videos, such as MPEG-4 (MOV and MP4).

As for installing this firmware, get and expand the downloadable archive, login to the device’s UI dashboard, and go to Settings → Firmware Update → Manual Update → Update From File. Now browse to the newly created folder, select the .deb file, and confirm the upgrade process.

After a few minutes, when the firmware has been successfully installed, the device will automatically reboot and the update process will be over.

That being said, download Firmware 03.03.02-165 for WD My Cloud, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, apply the new firmware, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
