Today, Nikon releases 4 new firmware versions developed for its compact and SLR digital cameras. The available files are compatible with all of Microsoft’s Windows platforms, as well as with the MAC operating system.

Specifically speaking, the compact COOLPIX P7700 digital camera gets the 1.2 version, and the D300, D300S, and D700 DSLR devices enjoy the benefits of the A:1.11/B:1.11, A:1.02/B:1.02, and A:1.04/B:1.03 released files, respectively.

The COOLPIX’ issue with the manual shooting mode, that would sometimes not lock on the selected ISO sensitivity, and select different settings, will be fixed through this new release.

In addition, the DSLR cameras get support for the longest lenses in NIKKOR’s lineup, namely the AF-S 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR.

As for installing the latest version, run the downloadable file, and from the created folder, copy the firmware file (or directory for the COOLPIX device) onto a formatted memory card.

Insert the card into the camera’s slot, select firmware version from the setup menu and follow the onscreen instructions.

After the process completes, turn off the camera, remove the memory card, and follow the same steps to view the firmware version to ensure that the process is successful.

Now, to download the newly released package, follow one of the links below depending on which camera you own, and afterwards, select the one that best describes your operating system.
