Just now, Nikon has announced the availability of a new firmware update targeted at its COOLPIX A digital camera, namely version 1.11, which consists of two downloadable packages compatible with Windows Vista, 7, and 8.1 platforms, as well as with several Mac OS X versions.

When it comes to changes, this fresh release improves normal autofocus by reducing the range from 50 cm to approximately 30 cm between lens and subject, and changes the color of the manual focus area to white so that the active focus mode can be easily identified.

In addition to that, the new firmware enhances the autofocus acquisition rate so that it can handle extremely high contrast scenes much better, and manages to reduce battery consumption through its interval timer photography feature.

As for installing the current version, get and run the proper downloadable package, copy the firmware folder from within the newly created “A_Update” directory onto a formatted memory card, and insert it into the camera while it’s turned off.

Now, power on the COOLPIX A device, go to Setup Menu → Firmware Version, and follow the instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

In addition to that, after the new firmware has been applied, make sure to turn off the camera, remove the memory card, and check the currently installed version to ensure the upgrade is a success.

That being said, download Nikon COOLPIX A Camera Firmware 1.11 for the proper operating system, follow the aforementioned steps, and enjoy your newly improved imaging device.
